Over the last few days, we've been running a little featurette on Red & Black Music's 4 projects. 💛❤️💜💙
With February being Rio Carnival month, it's worth mentioning Brazilian music has always been close to our heart 💚and in recognition of this, 3 of our projects have Brazilian alter-egos!
Diáspora Brasil adds cool cuts from the tropics 🌴 to the Latino fire of Diáspora 🔥 specialising in the myriad of styles emerging from Brazil from Rio's Samba and laid back Bossa Nova to Bahia's Baião and Samba-Reggae, blending Brazilian influences with jazz, funk and Saudade.
Have a listen to our takes on "Mais Que Nada" and "Lambada" on SoundCloud:
Fiesta Latina adds Festa Brasileira to the mix - dubbed "The Instant Brazilian Beach Party" 🥥🏝 a Caipirinha of classic and popular Brazilian tunes... 🍹🎹
Rory Bossa Nova takes the jazz south of the border. Its sax, guitar and cajon-based lineup focus on jazz and we released "Em Balança" (www.rorymusic.co.uk/em-balanca) 🎷
We've recently put a couple of new tracks on SoundCloud, 2 beautiful songs "Nostalgia Da Bossa" & "E Nada Mais" originally written by Brazilian composer Durval Ferreira:
Oh, did we mention Diáspora Brasil has a new home? 🏠 You can check out our info, music and photos here:

Next up ❤️ Diáspora's baby band 👶 Fiesta Latina has been bringing freshly squeezed Latin vibes to bars, restaurants and house parties all around the UK since 2013!
An instant coffee alternative... ☕️
Fiesta Latina is the smaller sister act and “instant coffee” alternative to the filtered coffee beans of its big brother Diáspora, each of the musicians taking the lead with their respective elements – the rhythms of the percussion, the harmonies of the piano, the melodies of the trumpet and the lyrics of the vocals – creating an explosive spark of musical interplay, with an emphasis on live dynamic interaction.
Highlights include our Havana Club & Pub tour, supporting Diáspora at The Jazz Cafe Camden, recording at Purple Room Studios, starting up the Fiesta Latina North with Vela Vox and Luigi in Manchester and entertaining the armed forces at Baker Barracks and Britannia Royal Naval College
The Latin house party experience... 🛋🏠🎉
Providing a quick and easy salsa solution 💃 the band has been a favourite with house parties, product launches and promotional and media work as well as weddings and intimate occasions.

Brazil's music is a rich and diverse cultural heritage. The subcontinent includes a myriad of styles far too numerous to mention here, a treasure trove of musical gems. At Red & Black Music, Brazilian music has always been very close to the heart. In recognition of this, we offer Brazilian setups across 3 out of our 4 projects.
Join us as we take a foray south of the border and into Brazil. Diáspora presents the best in Bossa Nova and Samba with fantastic live musicians, excellent cocktails and Brazilian vibes. Put on your dancing shoes and leave your blues at home, it's time to party!
Diáspora Brasil is the alter-ego of Diáspora, a separate setup specialising in the myriad of styles emerging from Brazil; from Samba and Bossa Nova to MPB and Sertanejo, from Partido Alto to funk.
The Instant Brazilian Beach Party. Hop on a plane and be transported to the tropical climes of South America, with our cool cuts of Brazilian Bossa Nova ("New Wave"), Samba, MPB ("Música Popular Brasileira) & Funk.
Rory's Brazilian setup focuses on jazz. The trio grew our of Rory's love of Bossa Nova and Brazilian music. Blending the warm, breezy tones of the strummed acoustic guitar and the crisp, bass notes of the cajon with saxophone, flute and vocals, the trio interpret a diverse range of repertoire by Tom Jobim, Toquinho, Toninho Horta, Roberto Menescal, Noel Rosa, Milton Nascimento, Marcos Valle, Luis Bonfa, Jorge Ben Jor, Ivan Lins, Durval Ferreira and Chico Buarque as well as Rory's own compositions.
