In the run up to A Celebration of Cuban Music at The Jazz Cafe featuring Diáspora 12-piece band + Fiesta Latina on 27 December, we're delighted to welcome back award-winning guest vocalist Adrian Garcia (Mariachi Fiesta UK, The Latin Funkers) who wowed audiences on Halloween with his thrilling interpretations of Santana, Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martinclassics, and will be repeating his showstopping performance in December. Adrian Garcia is a Mexican born singer-songwriter-producer who's now residing in London, UK. Adrian's music style is a mix of Latin, Pop, Funk, Rock and Electropop. Adrian's music is fresh, entertaining and trully enjoyable, same as watching him perform live. We are extremely happy that Adrian has been nominated as 'Best Vocalist of the Year' at The Lukas Awards 2016/17. These awards focus on the Latin community here in UK, which makes it special. It's all about the fans deciding who gets the award. You still can vote today as it's the closing date for the first round. You can vote --- "HERE" (http://www.thelukas.co.uk) --- just a quick log in and vote! And catch him singing with the 12-piece band on 27th December. To see where else Adrian is performing, visit www.adriangarciaofficial.com Fiesta Latina - the instant Latin house party - will be opening for Diáspora, A Celebration of Cuban Music at The Jazz Cafe on 27th December.
Fiesta Latina distils and blends the rhythms of the percussion, the harmonies of the piano, the melodies of the trumpet and the lyrics of the vocals – creating an explosive spark of musical interplay, with an emphasis on live dynamic interaction. Last month's set featured a cameo appearance from trumpeter Nick Walters (Riot Jazz, Skamel, Beats & Pieces Big Band), whose melodic lines can be heard on the Fiesta Latina Manchester demo: http://www.fiesta-latina.co.uk/listen.html Catch Fiesta Latina kicking off the night at 7:30pm.
"The band was very diverse and sang a range of cover songs and songs from their catalogue…it is clear to see their potential is great as they all work so well together in a natural organic way." Fiesta Latina is the instant coffee to the brewed beans of Diáspora. Established in 2013, Fiesta Latina shakes up a vibrant mix of salsa, Latin jazz, pop and Batucada beats, from Cuban classics and laid back Brazilian beats right through to the present day. Last month's set took the vibe in a slightly different direction - opening in a memorable performance of "La Habana" (Alejandro Sanz), from Alexandra Soto (Riamba).
