In the run up to An evening in Cuba at The Jazz Cafe featuring Diáspora12-piece band on 31st July, let's take a look at support act Fiesta Latina.
Fiesta Latina is the "instant coffee" alternative to the brewed beans of Diáspora and mixes salsa, merengue, son and rumba with Latin jazz, pop, samba and Bossa Nova to create a fresh, funky and instant Latin house party experience. With its compact lineup of vocals, keys, cajon and trumpet, each of the instruments taking their respective leads, their performance style places a high emphasis on live, acoustic, spontaneous interaction. Starting off in late 2013 with the re-launch of Rubicon Bar Surbiton and in early 2014 with Be At One Reading's 1st birthday, the band went on to perform a sequence of events celebrating Havana Club "El Ron De Cuba" which took them to Leeds, Bristol, Manchester, Oxford, Plymouth and Birmingham as well as London venues such as The Lion And Unicorn, Duke's Head Putney, The Half Moon Putney and the Sugar Hut. In summer 2016, the band were joined by Alexandra and will be opening the night with a short set of tunes by the likes of Juan Luis Guerra and Celia Cruz as well as some tropical classics. #fiesta #salsa #acoustic #Latin #house #party #instant #coffee #cocktail#mocktail #jazz #fusion In the run up to An evening in Cuba at The Jazz Cafe featuring Diáspora 12-piece band on 31st July, we're running an artist focus on the players joining us for the night...

With Q The Music, Rea's vocal style branches everything from jazz, progressive rock, funk and romantic to Celtic folk, Latin, pop and minimalism. Rea won an international songwriting competition in 2005 and this year released a solo album "8 Hours" to great acclaim. "I really believe that music can make the world go round, and that special song or piece has the power to inspire, communicate and translate what otherwise cannot be said in simple words. I feel we have a responsiblity as artists to keep filling the world with light, hope and encourage others to keep creating a better world." July's performance will see Rea delivering the lead lines on songs from Diaspora's upcoming album.
