Latin / salsa band Diáspora is looking for a freelance trombone player based in London who can participate in recording for 2 upcoming albums + demo. For more information on Diáspora, please visit www.diasporamusic.co.uk

​This paid opportunity would especially suit either a recent music graduate looking to develop their experience in professional recording or a part-time musician looking for opportunities to increase their playing.

Essential:

• Excellent reading abilities
• Based in Greater London
• Highly organised

Desirable:

• Love of playing jazz, Latin and salsa music
• Knowledge and understanding of jazz harmony
• Ability to improvise

Deal
Hourly rate dependent on ability, availability and experience
+ transport and subsistence expenses
to be agreed with the producer.

Membership
Participation on the recordings will feed into potential live work, and the successful applicant will be offered membership with Diáspora.

This is a position offered at Membership Level 1, indicating that the successful applicant will receive 1st offers for all 9, 10, 11, 12 piece band engagements.

Audio Recording:
All songs will be recorded to a click track, and superimposed over a guide track. All guide tracks are available immediately, and provisional scores subject to key/structure changes. Songs will be collated and edited in Logic Pro. Percussion/bass will be recorded in a studio. Piano will be recorded separately in MIDI. All other instruments/voices will be home-recorded.

Photo Shoot:
A photo shoot will be required for the album artwork.
