​Diáspora is looking for a female and a male to record lead vocals on Diáspora's 2nd album project.

Essential

• Ability to sing from memory in English and Spanish.
• Ability to improvise essential.
• Genuine love of salsa and Latin American music.
• Charismatic stage presence.
• Confident at engaging with the audience, good chemistry with the other musicians and with the microphone.
• Can either read notated music/lyrics or learn from recordings. All scores, lyrics and guide tracks provided.
• Based in or near London, UK.

Desirable
- Ability to sing in Portuguese.
- Latino/Romance roots or native Spanish/Portuguese speaker bonus, but not essential.
- Not away, abroad or unavailable for long periods of time.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project 81: Cuban-style album.
Original music composed and arranged by Rory Duffy. Lyrics in English and Spanish. Scores, lyrics and guide tracks will be provided, and available in advance prior to the recordings.

Proposed Schedule:

1. 11/12/2017 - Lead Vocals Advertisement Open.
2. 05/01/2018 - Lead Vocals Advertisement Closed.
3. 20/01/2018 - Lead Vocals Auditions 1.
4. 21/01/2018 - Lead Vocals Auditions 2.
5. 23/01/2018 - Lead Vocals Appointment.
6. January week 3/4 - working out keys and lyrics.
7. February week 1/2 - studio recording percussion and bass.
8. February recording vocals (lead/backing).
9. Piano recording to be carried out separately via MIDI in own time.
10. March photo shoot (unphotographed members only)
11. March recording horns.
12. Editing and post-production to be undertaken as a separate project.

Audio Recording:
All songs will be recorded to a click track, and superimposed over a guide track. All guide tracks are available immediately, and provisional scores subject to key/structure changes. Songs will be collated and edited in Logic Pro. Percussion/bass will be recorded in a studio. Piano will be recorded separately in MIDI. All other instruments/voices will be home-recorded.

Photo Shoot:
A photo shoot for unphotographed members only will be required for the album artwork.

LIVE WORK

In addition to the studio work, both vocalists will be offered a retainer of joint 1st offers for the duration of the period in which the project is being recorded (01/02/2018 - 01/04/2018).

In addition, the female vocalist will receive 2nd offers for our other Latin production, Fiesta Latina (www.fiesta-latina.co.uk). In return, the Fiesta Latina vocalist will receive 2nd offers for female vocals in Diáspora.

Performance Fees
For Deal Code 1 engagements (engagements where we are approached by a client for a quotation), we quote for the following minimum* performance fees:

• 12-piece: from £70 exc. per musician
• 11-piece: from £75 exc. per musician
• 10-piece: from £80 exc. per musician
• 09-piece: from £85 exc. per musician
• 08-piece: from £90 exc. per musician
• 07-piece: from £95 exc. per musician
• 06-piece: from £100 exc. per musician

Please note performance fees increase accordingly:

• +£5.00 per decrease in lineup (12-piece down)
• +£10.00 per increase in zone (distance from London)
• +10% per decrease in notice (Early Bird, Advance, Full, Late)

We're listing the minimum base fees here to properly manage your expectations. In 99% of cases, actual fees will be higher. Diáspora also occasionally takes Deal Code 2 engagements (engagements where we approach the client for the booking).
